Our base at West Square was Studio No. 2, which had a sink in the corner. On Improvisation 2, I decided to play the sink, or rather, the tap and the water. On this session, we were also able to use both of the excellent West Square ring modulators. Ron was a wizard on the mixing desk, conjuring up some amazing effects from combinations of ring modulation and reverb. I operated the second ring modulator for some of the time.

On Improvisation 3, Roger and I took turns joining Ron at the mixing desk, for additional sound manipulation. Roger’s springboard features prominently. Clive’s musical joke, played on a pair of cymbals, still makes me smile.
